Welcome to Expense Book. We hold your financial privacy in the absolute highest regard. This Privacy Policy outlines our commitment to transparency, details our data handling procedures, and explains your rights concerning your personal financial tracking information.
Core Philosophy: Your data belongs to you. Expense Book is built on a 100% offline, local-first database model. We do not store, view, upload, sync, or sell your financial data.
1. Local Data Storage & Processing
All inputs, transactions, cashbook ledgers, custom categories, transaction tags, pins, and payment settings you enter into the application are stored exclusively on your physical device.
- No external database synchronization is performed by default.
- No personal identification credentials, bank sync accounts, or logins are required to use the application.
- Your device’s local secure sandbox stores the SQLite/Preference configuration file safely.
2. Offline Backups
The "Backup and restore" features compile your local configurations into an offline backup file stored inside your device's primary storage. We do not transmit this file to any cloud servers. You are in complete control of where you share, store, or migrate your backup directories (e.g., your private cloud folder or external hard drives).
3. In-App Purchases & Premium Billing
Expense Book offers premium options to remove ads and unlock extended reports. These transactions are executed and managed directly via the official Google Play Billing Client.
- Payment information (credit cards, billing address, bank accounts) is handled securely by Google Play Services.
- The app receives a transaction confirmation token locally from the Google Play Store APIs to toggle the active premium tier. We do not have access to your personal financial payment methods.
4. Advertising Services
To keep the basic tier free of charge, Expense Book serves advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and process anonymous device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID) for ad delivery, targeting, and analytics.
If you purchase any of the premium tiers (Monthly, Annual, or Lifetime), all AdMob initializations are immediately bypassed, and all ad placements are completely and permanently deactivated.
5. Data Deletion
Since your information is stored completely offline, you have instant control over its deletion. You can permanently wipe all records by navigating to Settings -> Clear all data inside the app, or by uninstalling the application. This action is instantaneous, irreversible, and permanently clears the local secure database.
6. Children's Privacy
We do not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. Our application does not invite personal data entry, nor does it maintain communications with minors.
